Designs"></p> <p align="left">I Started A.S. Designs early in 2001, coming to furniture design via the unconventional route of Sculpture. Although the two disciplines seem a way apart the basic principles and elements are similar; form, texture and surface are important aspects of both fields.</p> <p align="center"><br> <img src="_images/Jester%20Bench.jpg" width="444" height="255" alt="Jesters Bench"></p> <p align="left">These elements I feel are critical in my design process for commission and exhibition pieces. Therefore the choice of wood has to include type, grain, colour and flowering to suite the design and brief. </p> <p align="left">These decisions enhance the surface quality and give each piece a distinct individuality which creates a truly unique piece.</p> <p align="center"><img src="_images/11102.jpg" width="437" height="207" alt="Hand Made Dining Table"></p> <p align="left"> I have had a number of challenging commissions. These I find the most personally rewarding. Some of these commissions can be seen on this site and I am working on some interesting designs at the moment, which I will display soon.
